We are at the forefront of geological and marine interpretation for both schools and the general public. In 1999 we had more than 55,000 visitors to the Centre.
We have existed since 1985, and have continued to evolve ever since but  are very much dependant on the help and involvement of the local community through our friends organisation. The Centre is an active member of Dorset Coastlink.

The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre is a registered charity and is funded by a variety of organisations including English Nature, World Wildlife Fund, West Dorset District Council and by donations from the general public.

At the Centre we have a whole range of colourful displays about local geology, marine life, the countryside and history. We have interactive computers that enable visitors to take a virtual dive beneath the waters of Lyme Bay, or to identify the fossils they have found on our world renowned fossil beach. Our wardens are always pleased to be brought interesting finds, or answer questions from visitors.

Entrance to the centre is free.
We are open in the  year 2000 from 10.30 AM to 5.00 PM on the following days:
February 19th to 27th.
April 15th to May 1st.
Weekends May 6th to 21st.
