The quaint and captivating essence of Lyme Regis is perfectly embodied in the Mariners Hotel. Formerly a Coaching Inn, this charismatic 17th century building has been lovingly renovated to showcase everything that makes this part of the country so special.
The hotel is a true celebration of interior design, where old meets new and contemporary fittings and the latest technology blend seamlessly with majestic period features. There are 14 comfortable guest rooms – all en-suite – and many boast inspiring views of the sea.
The building is drenched in a rich and absorbing history. Beatrix Potter was inspired to write ‘The Tale of Little Pig Robinson’ while staying at the hotel when she was just 17. And many of her illustrations in the book are based on the spectacular scenery she encountered while visiting Lyme Regis and the neighbouring towns and regions.
From the moment you step into the Mariners Hotel, you will be transported into a refined and serene world filled with exceptional levels of style, comfort, relaxation and service. Everything has been designed with you, our guests, in mind.
The recent refurbishment of the hotel has been undertaken with complete sympathy to all of the magnificent time-honoured character and grace that permeate the building. Wherever you look, interesting visual twists and carefully considered creative touches catch your eye. And each time they do, you will notice that the textures, finishes, lighting and layout gently complement the more traditional surroundings of the interior.
