September 20th 7.30pm – Thomas Trotter organ recital at St Michael’s Parish Church, Lyme Regis
Thomas Trotter is an internationally renowned organist is visiting to play a recital on the new Skrabl organ. A scholar at the Royal College of Music, London, and subsequently organ scholar at Kings College, Cambridge, he culminated his formal studies with Marie-Claire Alain in Paris. He was appointed Birmingham City Organist in 1983 in succession to Sir George Thalben-Ball, and is also a visiting Professor of Organ at the Royal College of Music, London. In addition to giving thirty recitals each year at Birmingham Town Hall, he regularly tours North America, Europe, Australia and Japan. He has performed with leading orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony, the Royal Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic. In May 2002 he was the recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society award for Best
